Thanks very much to all of our phenomenal speakers, attendees, and volunteers for making our 6th Annual Symposium a resounding success. We had over 150 attendees from a variety of backgrounds, including students, researchers, health providers, and individuals from the Alameda, Contra Costa, and San Francisco public health departments.

The UC Berkeley School of Public Health receives a Safeway grant to combat obesity! The grant will go toward funding the development of an online referral system - headed by COAST researcher, Kristine Madsen - which allows health providers to directly connect children at risk of obesity to local organizations and track their progress in the program.
