Sharon Youmans, PharmD, MPH
Sharon L. Youmans, PharmD, MPH, FAPhA is a Professor of Clinical Pharmacy and Executive Vice Dean of the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) School of Pharmacy. She received her PharmD degree from UCSF in 1985 and completed a pharmacy residency at California Pacific Medical Center in 1986. She received her MPH degree with an emphasis in community health education from San Jose State in 2005. In 2007 she was appointed as Vice Chair of Education for the Department of Clinical Pharmacy, and in 2013 appointed Vice Dean.
In 2013, she was inducted as a Fellow by American Pharmacist Association (APhA) Academy of Pharmacy Practice and Management, in 2016 in recognition of contributions to DEI initiatives at UCSF she received the Founders’ Champion Award, and in 2018 she became a member of the UCSF Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators.
She serves on the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) Board of Directors, and as a member of the Center for Minority Health and Health Disparities Research and Education Advisory Board at Xavier University College of Pharmacy.
She teaches on the topics of public health, communication, and cultural humility. Her research interests include health communication, health disparities, global health, and pharmacy education and administration.
