CHC Grant Review

The grant review working group is for CHC faculty and fellows who want to have their applications reviewed, serve as a reviewer or learn more about the grant process.

The group meets approximately 3 times a year in January, May and September, prior to NIH deadlines for R01s. We tend to meet Tuesdays at 4pm, or Thursdays at 5pm.

Grants could be to any funder, and include K-awards. The review group is best suited for reviewing empirical research projects.

During the grant review process, there will be two levels of review, and CHC leaders will host one of each during each review session.

1. A concept review of the aims only

2. The complete grant, with option of posing specific questions in a cover letter

Those requesting a review would indicate the type of grant, 3-5 suggested reviewers. Ideally, reviewers will be matched to the applicant’s discipline and requested areas of expertise.

Faculty may be asked to be a reviewer around once a year. This service can be included under teaching on your CV and we will indicate how to report this.
